Lucid FD Test Runner
This website provides access to the Lucid Test Runner. Only existing users can access the functions of this website. If you would like access, you will need to join WITS and request membership once you are a member.
What is the Lucid Protocol?
The Lucid Protocol is a protocol developed and managed by members of the WITS organisation. WITS (Worldwide Industrial Telemetry Standards) manages the WITS-DNP3 protocol and the Lucid protocol. The Lucid protocol provides a lightweight telemetry protocol between Field Devices (FDs) and Supervisory Applications (SAs) via an MQTT broker. The protocol is freely available from the Lucid website. Designed to be inexpensive to implement and suitable for IoT-like devices as well as larger RTUs (Remote Telemetry Units), Lucid supports many of the features available within WITS-DNP3 using MQTT with a defined JSON payload and method of use.
What is the test runner?
To promote interoperability of Lucid Field Devices, WITS members have access to a testing tool developed and maintained by the organisation. This test runner provides an easy interface through which users and vendors can run those tests against FDs and is available to any WITS member.
Getting involved!
If you would like to get involved in further defining the Lucid Protocol, developing the tests, or simply using this test runner, you need only join WITS and request membership. Start today via the Lucid Protocol contact form, or email us directly using the contact link below.
